The First Trimester of Your Pregnancy

Find out what to expect in the first trimester of your pregnancy, how will your body change and how to take care of yourself in this early stage of pregnancy.

You're pregnant! Congratulations! You probably can't wait and anticipate the cute maternity clothes, the baby kicking and your belly getting bigger!
The first pregnancy trimester is the stage of pregnancy from conception to 12 weeks.
Your body will surely experience some significant changes during the first trimester, even if they're not detectable to the naked eye.

What to Expect in the First Trimester of Your Pregnancy
Your body will grow and change in order to accommodate the growing fetus and it may be a period of discomfort for some of you.

Some of the changes of the first trimester of pregnancy include change in size of breasts, exhaustion and nausea.

You'll need to urinate more, as your growing uterus is already beginning to press against your bladder.
You'll probably gain some weight, in average, in the first trimester, women gain approximately one pound per month.

You'll have to be careful what you eat - have several small meals a day and try avoiding greasy food. It is recommended that pregnant women drink plenty of water and take adequate rest.

Physical activity should be kept to the minimum and avoid lifting heavy objects, or pushing yourself too hard. But you can still exercise, even if the exercises are different now. Just remember, before you start on any exercise routine, be sure you ask your GB about it.

It's a crucial trimester, the first one. Within this trimester you will find the most rapid rate of growth and development taking place.

By the end of the first trimester, your baby will grow up to 3.4 inches (8.7 cm) and weigh about 1.5 ounces (43 grams).
Your baby will develop everything from limbs to vital organs. Week by week the changes are simply amazing!

This is why you should protect yourself from any danger and get ready for your world to be changed forever.
